Evoke Rage
Shadowdark’s Evoke Rage runs for 1d4 rounds on a willing humanoid within Close range. The obvious read is the damage line: the target attacks recklessly and hits harder. Most casters stop there and treat it as a swing multiplier they burn on trash fights.
The clause worth the spell slot comes after. A raging target ignores morale checks. Shadowdark leans on morale to decide when hirelings, allies, and pressed combatants break and run, and a failed check mid-brawl can collapse a line you needed held. Evoke Rage buys 1d4 rounds where that number never gets rolled. The value is not the extra attack. The value is the ally who does not flee at the worst possible moment.
That reframes the timing. A minor skirmish rarely triggers morale, so the immunity does nothing there and the rounds are wasted. The spell earns its keep when the fight has already turned grim and one broken check would cost you the objective.
At the table: When your Seer’s hired shieldbearer is one bad round from a morale check that abandons the doorway, cast Evoke Rage on him and hold the line for 1d4 rounds instead of spending it on a goblin already half dead.
