College of Glamour
In D&D 5e, the College of Glamour bard gains Mantle of Inspiration at 3rd level. Spend one use of Bardic Inspiration as a bonus action, and each creature of your choice (a number equal to your Charisma modifier, minimum one) gains temporary HP equal to twice your Bardic Inspiration die roll. At 3rd level that die is a d6, so each ally receives 2d6 worth of range per activation. Those same creatures can also immediately use their reaction to move up to their speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
The trap is treating this as the boring feature while you save your slots and uses for Enthralling Performance (a Wisdom save against DC 8 plus proficiency plus Charisma) or the later Mantle of Majesty. Those are situational. Mantle of Inspiration is a bonus action you can afford several times per short rest, and it stacks battlefield repositioning onto survivability. Repeatable beats spectacular.
Temporary HP does not stack with itself, so timing matters. Deploy it before the alpha strike, not after someone is already bloodied.
At the table: Round one, bonus action Mantle of Inspiration on the front line, roll 2d6 temp HP per ally, and reaction-move your ranged bard clear of the melee before initiative even settles.
